AI chatbot ChatGPT may soon introduce new features. OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, is reportedly implementing Project Sunshine, which will bring personalized updates to ChatGPT. The new features include improved conversational coherence, continuous learning capabilities, and customizable memory functions.
According to Decoder, ChatGPT will soon be able to learn from existing chat records, making the AI system more personalized. OpenAI is preparing new personalized updates for ChatGPT, and user Jush from X account discovered this test in mid-November, finding the corresponding option in the ChatGPT menu.
Tibor Blaho, the web developer responsible for the ChatGPT project at AIPRM, recently found more evidence in the source code. These features can be found in the HTML code named Sunshine. Therefore, Tibor Blaho named this project Project Sunshine.
The personalized updates have three core features:
1. More coherent chat: GPT accounts can learn from chat records and provide more relevant responses.
2. Improvements over time: GPT accounts become more helpful over time, remembering details and preferences.
3. Customizable memory function: The GPT model can easily customize memory through messages, such as specifying “always use Python” or “forget everything about my previous project,” to influence ChatGPT’s conversation memory. Memory can also be disabled in the settings.
Temporary chat function will be added
In addition, OpenAI may introduce a temporary chat function, where messages are only used in the current chat window. This is particularly useful for teams using shared accounts but not necessarily working on the same topic. Multiple chat records can often confuse teams in their usage. Temporary chat records are not saved in chat history and the data is not used for model training.
Tibor Blaho also mentioned that OpenAI plans to update the GPT store, including introducing a search function to find the best customized GPT platform. OpenAI is planning a marketplace for GPTs, originally scheduled for release in November, but due to the dismissal of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, this project has been postponed to 2024.
Rumors of GPT-4.5 going online soon
Previously, there were rumors in the community that GPT-4.5 would be unveiled as early as the end of December. Recently, users on the OpenAI subreddit have leaked information suggesting that GPT-4.5 may have quietly gone online. This model has more powerful multimodal capabilities and can optimize the processing of language, audio, visual, 3D, and video data. However, OpenAI officials have debunked these rumors.
