The CEO of Tether, Paolo Ardoino, announced yesterday on the X platform that Tether, the issuer of the stablecoin USDT, is set to launch a new tokenization platform. This platform will support fully non-custodial, multi-chain, and multi-asset capabilities, with high customizability.
Tether, the issuer of the stablecoin USDT, has been very active recently. Not only has the circulation of its main business, USDT, surpassed $100 billion for the first time, but the company has also made significant progress in AI models, Bitcoin mining, and real-world assets (RWA).
Following this, Paolo Ardoino, the CEO of Tether, announced yesterday on the X platform that Tether is set to launch a new tokenization platform. Paolo Ardoino further stated, “Anything from bonds, stocks, or funds to coffee shop rewards can be tokenized,” highlighting the high level of customizability of the tokenization platform.
In addition to virtual asset companies, many traditional financial institutions also plan to launch products related to asset tokenization. Asset management firm BlackRock plans to collaborate with US asset tokenization company Securitize to launch the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity fund. HSBC Bank recently announced the launch of tokenized gold, “HSBC Gold Token (HSBC),” to its retail customers in Hong Kong.
Furthermore, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission has explicitly stated that security token offerings (STOs) and RWA investments may be open to retail investors, aiming for Hong Kong to become a global hub for RWA innovation.
According to CoinGecko, the market value of RWA projects has increased by 16% in the past 24 hours. Tokens such as Ondo Finance ($ONDO) and Pendle Finance ($PENDLE) have seen price increases of 25.3% and 15.9% respectively in the past 24 hours.
