Coinbase Wallet Launches New Feature to Enable Users to Share Transfer Links via Social Media, Messaging Platforms, and Email for Easy, Fast, and Free Global Remittances. The launch of the new feature aligns with Coinbase’s commitment to promote greater participation in the crypto economy.
Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, which has tripled in value this year, introduced a new feature for its digital wallet, Coinbase Wallet, yesterday (5th). This feature allows users to transfer cryptocurrencies through various messaging platforms, social media, and email by “sharing transfer links,” aiming to make global remittances easier, cheaper, and faster.
According to the official website, the main features of this service are as follows:
Transfer on any platform where links can be shared
Users can send transfer links through communication applications like WhatsApp, iMessage, and Telegram, as well as social media platforms like Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram. They can even send transfer links via email, and the recipient only needs to click on the received transfer link to claim the funds. This is much more intuitive and easier compared to the traditional method of copying and pasting a long string of cryptocurrency addresses.
Both the sender and receiver of the transfer must have Coinbase Wallet. If the recipient does not have the wallet, they will be guided to download it from the Apple or Android app store. If the funds are not claimed within two weeks, they will be automatically refunded to the sender.
Cross-border transfers: fast and cost-free
Through Coinbase Wallet, users can send USDC globally “instantly” and “for free.” The supported public chains currently include Arbitrum, Avax, Base, Optimism, and Polygon.
According to the official website, Coinbase Wallet has broad availability, supporting 20 languages and providing services in over 170 countries/regions worldwide. It also supports local fiat currency deposits in more than 130 countries, including leading payment methods such as Pix in Brazil, Instant P2P Bank in Nigeria, and GCash in the Philippines.
In terms of simplifying the user experience, Coinbase Wallet introduces a simple mode that focuses on basic functions such as purchasing, sending, receiving, and storing digital assets.
In summary, Coinbase Wallet has made transfers simpler and faster by introducing the new feature of “sharing transfer links,” aiming to attract more users to utilize its digital wallet. Coinbase stated on its official website:
