Prominent US social media personality Tiffany Fong recently released an exclusive photo featuring Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the founder of cryptocurrency exchange FTX. It is said that the photo was taken on the eve of last year’s Christmas. Through an interview with G Lock, SBF’s fellow inmate and former Blood gang member, Fong exposed SBF’s prison life in the Brooklyn facility in New York.
Inmate reveals: He doesn’t shower!
According to G Lock’s description, these photos were taken on December 17, 2023, as prisoners are only allowed to take photos on specific holidays such as Christmas. SBF is seen standing with other inmates in the photo, clearly looking unaccustomed to prison life, noticeably emaciated. The inmate added that initially, SBF was not in the photo, but he saw himself and said, “Oh! I’m not in the picture,” and that’s why he was added.
G Lock mentioned that SBF used to be someone who always kept his beard clean-shaven. However, now he has chosen to grow it out. This change represents a shift of pressure for him. At the same time, SBF’s weight has significantly decreased, transforming from a previously healthy physique to a fragile appearance.
On the other hand, G Lock also mentioned that SBF not only does not shower in prison but also does not engage in any other activities. It seems that he has lost the drive and spirit for life. This state reflects the drastic psychological and physical changes he has undergone after being convicted of seven criminal charges.
Inmate initiates “Free SBF” movement
Regarding SBF’s refusal to shower, Tiffany Fong expressed doubt if it was because he feared being a victim of sexual assault by other inmates. G Lock chuckled in response, stating that in today’s prisons, the situations of the 90s and early 2000s are unlikely to occur anymore, and SBF has not experienced any beatings or violence. This seems to indicate that SBF’s choice may be to maintain a low profile in prison and avoid attracting too much attention.
Furthermore, this fellow inmate G Lock seems to be fond of SBF. He believes that SBF has not engaged in any snitching behavior and is more akin to a gang member than rapper Takashi69. He even called on US President Biden to release SBF and initiated the “Free Sam Bankman” movement in a video.
