Asian Developers Embrace TON
On October 18th (Friday) at 20:00 (UTC+8), Dynamic Zone held a Space event with the theme “Riding the Telegram Wave: How TON Projects Stand Out”. Since the beginning of this year, various projects in the TON ecosystem have risen rapidly, attracting the attention of many cryptocurrency users. How can these projects stand out and achieve stable development in the competitive cryptocurrency market?
Blum Co-founder Smerkis stated that since its launch in April 2024, Blum has simplified the entry barrier for users into the cryptocurrency world through TON. It has accumulated over 81 million registered users and has 21 million daily active users. Smerkis pointed out in the Space event that the key to Blum’s success lies in its “clear sense of mission” and providing users with a convenient blockchain interface. Regarding user support, he also mentioned:
Dr. Awesomedoge, founder of TONX, also discussed the core goals of TONX, particularly in providing API and security auditing services. TONX aims to become the preferred choice for developers to enter the TON ecosystem. He emphasized:
Dr. Awesomedoge believes that with the widespread use of Telegram MiniApp, TON will gradually become a true “super app” where users can fulfill multiple needs through a single application.
Howard Peng, TON’s Developer Relations Manager, shared his journey in the TON ecosystem. He believes that the future of the TON ecosystem lies in further developing DeFi. He stated:
Andrea Chang, Partner at Oak Grove Ventures, provided a perspective from the VC angle, pointing out that the potential of consumer applications has not been fully unleashed. She believes that as users’ acceptance of new technologies increases, applications on the TON ecosystem will create greater market value in areas such as ticketing and gaming.
When discussing the development prospects of the TON ecosystem, the guests unanimously agreed that the ecosystem has grown rapidly in recent years and has attracted a large number of new users. However, they also pointed out that while facing user growth, technical challenges are increasingly prominent. As Smerkis said:
Furthermore, Dr. Awesomedoge emphasized that with more global developer teams joining the TON ecosystem, continuous improvement of infrastructure is necessary to meet higher user demands and technical challenges. He expects TON to gradually introduce cross-chain bridge technology to attract users from other blockchains such as Solana and EVM chains.
Andrea highlighted the importance of consumer applications and brand value creation, pointing out that as users become more familiar with the TON ecosystem, the average transaction amount for consumer applications will increase. She stated:
In terms of future plans, Blum plans to launch the MemePad platform and continue expanding its trading capabilities to provide more diverse investment products. TONX plans to continue expanding its developer support program and hold large-scale events in more cities worldwide, including participating in the Devcon event in Thailand in November.
Howard further expressed efforts to attract more Asian developers to the TON ecosystem, especially those with experience in developing WeChat mini programs. He believes that TON’s Telegram application framework provides tremendous potential and development space for developers in China and the Asian market.
The guests discussed the diversity and immense potential of the TON ecosystem, particularly in the continuous innovation in decentralized finance, consumer applications, and developer support. They share the consensus that the growth curve of the TON ecosystem will continue to rise with the development of applications and user acceptance, attracting more global developers and users’ attention in the coming years.
