Ether is the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization and the largest public chain platform globally, with the most active developer community. In April of last year, the first ETHTaipei Ethereum Developers Conference was held in Taipei, attracting thousands of developers from around the world to exchange cutting-edge Ethereum technology and receiving unanimous praise. To continue the success of last year, ETHTaipei 2024 will return from March 21 to 24.
Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum (V God), will personally come to Taiwan to give a speech and share the latest developments and trends in Ethereum. V God is one of the most influential leaders in blockchain technology globally, and his speech will be a highlight of this conference. At the same time, with the Dencun upgrade, which is crucial for the future of Layer 2, officially being incorporated into Ethereum, Vitalik will also discuss the progress and future of Ethereum network scalability with other leaders in Layer 2 technology.
The event will last for four days, including two days of international conferences and three days of hackathons. The conferences will focus on hot topics such as ZK, DeFi, and security, inviting experts and scholars from well-known teams such as Ethereum Foundation, Perpetual Protocol, Geth, Gnosis, and Dedaub to give speeches. The topics cover Ethereum upgrades, MEV, Layer 2, DeFi, AA, information security, etc., and panel discussions will be arranged to allow industry elites to share insights and spark more ideas.
The hackathon will start on the evening of March 22, providing a 24-hour hacker house on-site. Developers will need to complete their projects on selected topics within 40 hours and compete for rich awards provided by different companies. The hackathon is free to sign up for, and various workshops will be available during the hacking period, allowing developers to not only learn from each other but also have the opportunity to directly communicate with the industry. This year, there will be opportunities for job matching, where participants can not only earn cash rewards but also potentially receive job offers.
ETHTaipei is jointly initiated by nine passionate developers, including the most influential figure in Taiwan’s blockchain, Feng Yanwen, co-founder of Perpetual Protocol, Chen Changwu, Chief Scientist of imToken, Zhu Xuanting, founder of Furucombo, Anderson Chen, co-founder of Diamond Protocol, and Li Songsheng, Developer Relations Manager of Quantstamp.
ETHTaipei has also partnered with several well-known companies, including Nuvo, XY Finance, Consensys, MintClub, Ora, BTSE, Lita, Zircuit, Harvest Finance, Dyson Finance, Term Structure, etc. They will set up booths on-site to introduce the latest blockchain products to developers and engage in discussions.
