According to a report from Coindesk, the Swiss headquarters of the Ethereum Foundation is currently under investigation by a “national agency,” and the relevant records have been logged in the Github database. However, the investigation has been kept confidential, and the reasons and purposes of the investigation are currently unclear. The Ethereum Foundation has not yet responded to this matter.
Eleanor Terrett, a Fox Business journalist who focuses on cryptocurrencies, also tweeted about this issue, but deleted the tweet within a minute.
The general speculation in the market is that the investigation is related to the SEC’s review of the Ethereum spot ETF.
The price of Ethereum (ETH) has experienced a 1.3% pullback in the past 24 hours. This news caused a temporary consolidation, and it is currently trading at $3321.
