UK Judge James Mellor has ordered the freezing of Craig Wright’s assets worth £6 million globally to prevent him from transferring his assets overseas and evading the costs of related legal proceedings. This comes after the recent ruling by Judge Mellor stating that Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto and is not the author of the Bitcoin whitepaper. Craig Wright, also known as “Faketoshi,” has faced numerous legal defeats in recent years due to his inability to provide the private keys as evidence and multiple instances of perjury. In February last year, he lost a case in the UK High Court where the judge ruled that Bitcoin’s file format could not be considered a literary work. Wright claimed that he had the right to prevent the operation of blockchains that forked from the original Bitcoin, including BTC and BCH, as they infringed on his intellectual property rights. He has also filed claims against many entities related to Bitcoin, including Coinbase exchange. The freezing of his assets is aimed at ensuring that he cannot escape the costs associated with the current case.
