Justin Sun, the founder of BitTorrent and CEO of TRON, recently initiated a vote on Twitter regarding the issuance of the “Coconut Chicken” (CCC) meme token on the TRON blockchain. This has sparked a heated discussion within the community, with the majority of voters currently in favor of the proposal.
Just before launching the vote, Sun posted an emoji of a coconut chicken, which led to speculation among the community about the possibility of him releasing a white paper or meme token.
Back on May 11th, Sun had already expressed his support for meme tokens and promising projects on Twitter, pledging to donate all profits from these investments to charity. He also emphasized that these investments should not be considered financial advice and that there is no guarantee of listing on any exchange, including Huobi and Poloniex, which he owns.
Now, with his own meme token vote, there are concerns about whether this new meme token, if approved, will be listed on his own exchange. Sun has also expressed his encouragement for the development of the TRON meme ecosystem, stating that the internet is reliable and cannot be paralyzed, which has further fueled the enthusiasm for the TRON ecosystem.
